{ THE BRIEF
Responsive Tectonics : Brixton
Unit 8 explores the idea of urban complexity as shaped by the interchanges of its living and non-living co-inhabitants. This constitutes the entry point for the development of responsive space-making ideas that, emerging from a deep understanding of place and context, explore more resilient and sustainable models for regenerative urban interventions.

ROLE(S):: Maker/ Installer
1. Performance of Form
During term one we explored the performance of diverse man-made and natural patterns, with my focus being on the behavior of fluids in urban environments and their relationship with our experience of habitation. This was explored through fluid simulation in a Bloomsbury Bookshop.
2. Studies in Florence
Following our Unit field trip to Florence, where we had the opportunity to explore first-hand the classical compositional techniques pioneered by the Reneisannces' great builders, I focused on analyzing the space syntax and behavior of the Palazzo Medici Riccardi, unlocking an understanding of its passive design strategies and classical composition.
3. Brixton Park
A social regeneration project presenting a comprehensive response to the housing crisis by embedding a homeless shelter, transitional housing, affordable flats, and shared urban greenery into the heart of Brixton.
The project imagines a future where high value, and centralized areas are redeveloped by the local council, enabled by affordable modular fabrication techniques tied together with a modern take on traditional detail and craft.
